Anderson Rips 3 Homers Against Dukes

Fans seated in the bleacher section at Dukes Ballpark were taking cover all day long as Bryan Anderson zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power.

The big game from the Waterville HS catcher helped the Longbows take the victory, 21-7, over the Plano HS Dukes.

"I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing."

For the game, he collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 5 runs.

Bryan Anderson hit a solo-shot off Brian Kelly in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Michael Cox in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Pagán in the 7th and walked in a run in the 8th.

This season Anderson has 5 home runs and a .333 batting average.
Minneapolis HS's Young Will Miss Season

The news is bad in Minneapolis HS. The Gulls have lost the services of reliever Myles Young for the rest of the season due to a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. Young was injured in a recent game with the Raleigh HS Gophers while throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 7 months.
Prairie Dogs Show No Mercy in 11-0 Thrashing of Sailfish

The Montz HS Prairie Dogs rolled to an easy 11-0 win over the Saint Petersburg HS Sailfish at Sailfish Ballpark today. Leading the way to victory was starter Norbert Davis, who shackled the Saint Petersburg HS Sailfish and held them scoreless on a 5-hitter.

"This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Davis said in his postgame press conference.
