Cook Fires Shutout in Bay Breakers Victory Thursday, July 23rd , 2122 The Santa Fe Fire had no answer for San Francisco Bay Breakers pitcher Ron Cook. They failed to score a single run against him, losing, 2-0. Santa Fe managed only 5 hits off Cook, who had 6 strikeouts. The extraordinarily popular Cook got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd. "Bay Breakers fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances, but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."
