Catfish Cruise to Round 4 with Sweep

Nick Metcalf said he expected the Round 3 to be "a battle from start to finish."
In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Memphis Catfish encountered little resistance in sweeping the Montreal Royales, to advance to the Round 4.
"It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Metcalf.
Memphis won the final game by a 4-0 count and were led in the series by Metcalf, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .556 with 3 home runs. He also drove in 5 RBI and scored 8 runs.
The Memphis Catfish don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Vancouver Thunder - Minnesota Lake Monsters series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 4 schedule will be announced after the Round 3 finishes.

Thunder Move on to Round 3

The Vancouver Thunder are heading to the Round 3, having narrowly defeated the Mexico City Toros Bravos.
Vancouver edged Mexico City in the series 4-3, with a win at Trono de los reyes des beisbol in the clinching game by a 3-1 margin.
Steve Johnston turned in a strong offensive performance for the Thunder and got series MVP for his efforts.
"I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a Round 4 win."
It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Johnston continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.
For the series, he hit .286 with a .364 on-base percentage. He had 5 home runs, 8 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The Vancouver Thunder will play against the Minnesota Lake Monsters in the next round. Minnesota won their series against the North Shore Honu 4 games to 1. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
