The Vancouver Thunder locked up a win at Thunderdome, knocking off the North Shore Honu, 5-0. On the mound for Vancouver was right-hander Byron Brandt. He played a major role in the triumph. The winner was Brandt. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Bob Crews. Vancouver is now 40-42, North Shore 46-36.

Vancouver took the lead, 1-0, on Steve Johnston's 18th home run of the season. The solo home run came off North Shore pitcher Bob Crews in the bottom of the seventh.

"When Byron is on, he can really move the ball around," said Vancouver manager Adam Annis-Brown.
