The North Shore Honu downed the Vancouver Thunder, 7-3, at Honu Stadium. The Honu were led by Cristóbal Ríos. Ríos went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Honu, now 5-2, have hit the ground running this season.

There was more than one reason the Honu beat the Thunder, but Ríos's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-2 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Ríos told the North Shore Herald. "And padding the North Shore win column."
