Lake Monsters Collect 14-11 Win Over Thunder
The Minnesota Lake Monsters defeated the Vancouver Thunder, 14-11. Center Fielder Shojiro Kobayashi deserved a large share of the credit. Kobayashi went 3-5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Lake Monsters. Minnesota reliever Alden Smith snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Dan Cholmeley shouldered the loss. The loss drops the Thunder to 3-3.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Kobayashi delivered big-time for Minnesota, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Lance Webber. The game-changing hit put the Lake Monsters on top, 14-11.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Vancouver manager Adam Annis-Brown.
