The Vancouver Thunder defeated the Minnesota Lake Monsters, 5-2, at Monster Island on Lake Union. Vancouver shortstop Joe Jackson had a superb performance. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. William Sánchez got credit for the save for Vancouver. It was his 4th of the year. The win hiked the Vancouver record to 24-18.

Scott Tatum had a big 2-run home run for the Thunder in the top of the third inning. With Vancouver leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Thurman Elliott and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the Thunder on top, 3-0.

Tatum attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
