Memphis pitcher Lorenzo Franco had a large part in his team beating the D.C. Rage, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 7 innings, Franco surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Jon Hodges closed the game out for Memphis, earning his 12th save.

Memphis relied on the bat of Manuel Delbusto to get the win. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to put the Catfish ahead, 1-0. For the game, Delbusto had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.

Delbusto told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
