Bruce Valentín had a big hand in the 11-7 North Shore triumph over Mexico City. He rattled off 3 hits in 6 at-bats, scoring 3 times and knocking in 2 runs. North Shore reliever Juan Gallegos picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Júlio Bueno was saddled with the loss. The Toros Bravos drop to 8-8 and continue their mediocre start to the 2123 season.

North Shore designated hitter Seinosuke Toiguchi contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 11th hit of the season and put the Honu ahead, 8-5.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Honu manager Sid Hamlin. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
