The Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Force played an exciting game.

Toronto beat New York at Maple Leaf Park at Hanlan's Point, eking out a 4-3 win. The triumph was primarily due to first baseman Clint Pugh. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Toronto reliever Jon Beaird picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Don Thomas took the loss.

Pugh had a timely hit for Toronto in the bottom of the eighth. With Toronto trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-1 sinker into a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 4-3, Toronto.

Pugh attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."

The defeat makes the Force 7-11.
