Don McCarthy, who is tied for 10th in the EL in wins with 14, had a strong outing for the Nashville Outlaws against the Memphis Catfish at Legends Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Geoffrey Webster earned the save, his 5th. Nashville raised its record to 83-74 with the win.

Yoshihito Watanabe came through with a big-time hit for Nashville. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Don is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Nashville manager Larry Link.
