Vegas third baseman Cristo Cruz had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Santa Fe Fire, 8-6. Juan Ellis snagged the win in relief. He goes to 7-4 on the season. Doug Burns suffered the loss. The Violators raised their record to 70-83.

Chris Metts was 2-4 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Vegas. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring walk off Richard Cobb. It was his 35th walk of the season.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Cruz.
