Cannon gets 4 RBI in Wolverines Win
|
The home team gave the crowd at Huron River Field something to cheer about.
Ann Arbor second baseman Ward Cannon was a significant contributor in his team's 6-4 triumph over the Washington Black Bears. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Wolverines. Ánibal Martínez, the winner, is now 13-6. He struck out 5 and walked 0 over 8.1 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 6 hits.
With Ann Arbor leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Cannon hit a changeup from Terry Fortin for a 2-run triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and put the Wolverines ahead, 3-0.
