Lake Monsters Tear Continues with 6-1 Triumph

The Minnesota Lake Monsters stifled the Cleveland Rumble Fish, 6-1, at Monster Island on Lake Union. Shojiro Kobayashi, who is a four-time All-Star, had his hitting cap on. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for Minnesota. George Schmidt was the winner. He's now 10-11. The loser was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Mario Rodríguez. Minnesota, now 77-61, has stretched its winning streak to 12 games.
Dave Horswill, who is a three-time All-Star, took Cleveland hurler Mario Rodríguez deep in the bottom of the second. His 3-run home run put the Lake Monsters on top, 3-0. In all, Horswill had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
