Behind a fine performance from Alberto Marquis, the Maine Guides knocked off the Buffalo Blizzard in 10 innings, 14-11. Marquis was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Guides. Maine reliever Scott Forrest got the win, raising his record to 11-8. José Rivera was tagged with the loss. The victory gives the Guides a record of 63-52.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Marquis hit a changeup from José Rivera for a 3-run home run. The Guides, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Guides manager Scott Kaplan.
