Jazz Rally to Nose Past New York
|
The New Orleans Jazz beat the New York Force, 8-7, in part because of right fielder Kevin MacGregor. He went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Earning his 3rd save for New Orleans was Dennis Hunter. New Orleans, at 47-51, sits in 5th place in the Eastern League Adam White Division.
With New Orleans trailing 7-6 in the top of the ninth, MacGregor hit a sinker from Jesús Matos for a 2-run double. It was his 23rd double of the season and put the Jazz ahead, 8-7.
"I'm proud to wear a New Orleans jersey," MacGregor told the New Orleans Citizen. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
