Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Montreal Royales and the New York Force. Montreal won it, 2-1. Montreal starter Fernando Rosário was in command. The winner was Carl Wilson in relief. His record improves to 4-9. Paul Brisebois took the loss. With the victory, the Royales upped their record to 58-34.

Montreal got a clutch hit from Shaw Fallon. The third baseman launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Royales manager Martin Doyer.
