Getting an impressive start from Michael Ridley, Toronto beat Connecticut by the score of 5-1. Toronto is now 53-39.

Toronto shortstop Ed Sánchez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 88th hit of the season and put the Maple Leafs ahead, 3-1.

"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Sánchez.
