Montreal starter Ronald Albert kept the Maine offense from doing much damage. The left-hander leaned on his cutter in leading the Royales to a 4-1 win. Albert, the winner, moves to 2-3. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Chad Gonzáles notched his 18th save in 21 chances.

The Royales got a big at-bat from second baseman Hugh Lyons. For the game, Lyons went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 30th double of the season gave Montreal a 2-1 lead.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Maine manager Scott Kaplan.

The Guides have now dropped 5 straight.
