Miller Slugs Eruption to 4-1 Win
|
The exploits of designated hitter Cole Miller, who finished 2nd in the WL in OPS with .970 in 2115, helped the Los Angeles Eruption defeat the Santa Fe Fire, 4-1. Miller was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Julián Castaneda went 7.2 innings for Los Angeles to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 1 run. He scattered 7 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 3. His record improves to 7-8. Yoshimasa Araki, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Early in the game, Miller had a 2-run home run for Los Angeles. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Eruption on top, 2-0.
Said losing manager Dave Caswell: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
The losing skid has reached 7 games for Santa Fe.
