The New York Force could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Doug Rockburn into a win. Instead, the Milwaukee Choppers prevailed, 4-2. Rockburn threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Derrick Miller picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-3. Doug Rockburn, who is tied for 6th in the EL in complete games with 1, was tagged with the loss. Jeremy Collins was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 6 save opportunities.
The Choppers got a big at-bat from left fielder Joseph Wilson. For the game, Wilson went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Milwaukee a 2-1 lead.
"I liked our effort," said Choppers manager Jim Hewell.
The Choppers raised their record to 31-53.
