The Los Angeles Eruption weathered a fine game by Milwaukee catcher Jorge Tovar to upend the Choppers, 7-5, at Edward and Alex Van Halen Memorial Ballpark. Tovar went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. Los Angeles reliever Will Kowalski picked up the win, raising his record to 4-6. John Childs was tagged with the loss. Los Angeles has won 6 straight games.

Los Angeles took a 7-5 lead on Lynn McGinnis's 12th double of the season. The 2-run double, which McGinnis hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Milwaukee pitcher John Childs visibly frustrated.

"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said Milwaukee manager Jim Hewell.
