Braves Win, 6-2, Over Chicago
|
The Atlanta Braves stymied the Chicago Cubs, 6-2, at Wrigley Field. Daniel Montesino had a good day at the plate. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Atlanta. JR Ritchie was the winner. He's now 7-9. The loser was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Bret Brownie. Picking up the save was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Ben Plaster.
Sean Rylant did the little things right to help the team against the Cubs. In the top of the first inning, he reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, putting Atlanta in front, 1-0.
"It was a solid team effort," said Rylant after the game.
Atlanta sits in third place in the National League East Division at 61-65.
