Round 1 Goes the Distance, Clearwater Prevails

The Clearwater Threshers and Dunedin Blue Jays put on a classic Round 1 that was in question until the final game.
In the end, Clearwater won the deciding contest by a score of 2-0, to take the series 4-3.
"It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said Toby Woodruff, who earned series MVP honors for Clearwater. "Our guys are breathing a little easier now."
For the series, Woodruff hit .370 with a .414 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The Clearwater Threshers will play against the Bradenton Marauders in the next round. Bradenton won their series against the Palm Beach Cardinals 4 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
