Fort Myers Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game Friday, September 25th , 2037 The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels and Dunedin Blue Jays put on a classic Round 1 that was in question until the final game. In the end, Fort Myers won the deciding contest by a score of 9-4, to take the series 4-3. "It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said Alex Olivas, who earned series MVP honors for Fort Myers. "Our guys are breathing a little easier now." For the series, Olivas hit .333 with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels will play against the St. Lucie Mets in the next round. St. Lucie won their series against the Tampa Tarpons 4 games to 3. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
