Powell Batters Lake County for 5 Hits Thursday, August 27th , 2037 Vince Powell was sizzling at the plate. In a game played at Classic Park, the Great Lakes center fielder blistered the Lake County Captains for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a good 16-1 victory. "Powell was too tough to get out," Captains skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Vince Powell walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Mike Fernandez in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Hitting .351 to date, Powell has 11 home runs and 46 RBIs. He has played in 67 games. |
