Otero Strokes 5 Hits Thursday, July 28th , 2039 Quad Cities River Bandits catcher Melvin Otero really lit up the South Bend Cubs with a 5-hit barrage at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium -- a performance that sparked the River Bandits to a 7-5 triumph. He shrugged off the performance after the game, saying "sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes." Melvin Otero singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th. Thus far this year, Otero has hit .246 with 4 home runs and 20 RBIs. |
