Abella Hits in 25 Consecutive Games Thursday, July 30th , 2037 The Great Lakes Loons fell to the Lake County Captains in Classic Park, even as 22-year-old shortstop Willie Abella upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25 games. Abella finished with 2 hits in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Loons from dropping the 5-4 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Abella. Willie Abella flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. Currently Abella is batting .413 with 8 home runs and 36 RBIs. |
