Hillsboro Loses Alex Ruiz for Season Wednesday, June 30th , 2038 The Hillsboro Hops will be minus Alex Ruiz for about 14-15 months after the reliever suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Eugene Emeralds. Ruiz and Hops skipper had been hoping the post-game examination would show less damage than originally thought. For the year, Ruiz has collected 1 save in 9 relief appearances.
