League Punishes Pair for Fighting Tuesday, August 18th , 2037 After an intense confrontation, both the Tides Jake Johnston and the RailRiders Jose Rodrigues were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Norfolk-Scranton WB game. Jake Johnston will miss 4 games, while Jose Rodrigues was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Jake Johnston commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." To date this season, Johnston is hitting .251 with 8 home runs. For the season, Rodrigues is currently batting .328 with 9 home runs and 52 RBIs. In 99 games he has reached base at a .357 rate and scored 67 runs to date. |
