Omaha Halts Baker's Hitting Steak
Thursday, May 7th , 2037
Norfolk Tides first baseman Jim Baker finally met his Waterloo.
A 21-game hitting spree is now history after Baker was unable to make anything happen in 3 at-bats today against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Fortunately for Baker and the Tides, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game, 5-2.
"We're a true team here," he said. "For 21 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day."
In 22 games Baker is hitting .430 this season with 37 hits, 6 home runs, 23 RBIs, 9 walks, .485 OBP and has scored 19 runs.
