Mighty Mussels Beat Mets in Round 2
It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, that meant the Low-A Southeast Round 2 trophy.

The Mighty Mussels took a 5-1 victory over the St. Lucie Mets at Hammond Stadium, winning their 1st championship after taking the series 4-2.

"We've got grit," said Mighty Mussels shortstop Jeremy White, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to."

The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the West Division and a 89-51 record.
