Nassor on a Tear, Hits for Cycle
|
At Red Hawks Stadium, Musamba Nassor led Krugersdorp to a win, 7-4, over the Brakpan Red Hawks by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats.
"Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," Nassor said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases."
In addition to going 4-for-5, Nassor chalked up 5 runs batted in and scored 2 runs in an exceptional performance.
Musamba Nassor hit a solo-shot off Ndila Kunjufu in the 2nd, hit a two-run triple in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
For the season, Nassor has hit .255 with 9 home runs and 47 RBIs. He has played in 99 games and scored 41 times.
