Ramírez Socks It to Sailors, Cracks 5 Hits
Monday, August 25th , 2059
It was a sensational day at the plate for Júlio Ramírez as he led the charge to a nifty 6-5 win over the Sailors. The Pembroke Pines center fielder was pure misery for the Sanibel pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 9 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Ramírez put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Nate Howlett, manager for the Sailors, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Júlio Ramírez hit a solo-shot off Keith Weatherspoon in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, struck out in the 11th, struck out in the 13th, grounded out in the 15th, grounded out in the 18th and hit an RBI single in the 19th.
This season, Ramírez is batting .289 with 2 home runs.
