Big Day for LaLone: Swats 5 Hits Monday, August 1st , 2061 The Ranchers whipped the Impalas, 7-5, at Peoria Sports Complex and Jack LaLone had a big hand in the win. The Ranchers second baseman came to the plate 5 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for LaLone and a tough day for Tempe. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, LaLone delivered -- 5-for-5 is outstanding in any league. Jack LaLone hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Martin Love in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
