McCarthy Awarded July's AZL Top Bat Prize Tuesday, August 1st , 2051 When Christian McCarthy stepped up to the plate in July he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Arizona Rookie League Batter of the Month award. The young Scottsdale right fielder posted a .412 batting average with 5 home runs, 14 RBIs and scored 21 runs. McCarthy also worked pitchers for 10 walks to post a .472 on-base percentage. In 36 games this season McCarthy has batted at a .379 pace with 53 hits and 6 home runs. |
