Holland Honored, 2050 FLA Most Valuable Player
Friday, October 28th , 2050
At the age of 21, Adam Holland of the Gainesville Hogs could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2050 was good enough to win the shortstop the Florida Rookie League Most Valuable Player.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .339 batting average this year, as well as a .394 on-base percentage. He played 59 games and racked up 78 hits, 10 doubles, no triples, 11 home runs, 30 RBIs and 44 runs scored.
He received 36 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. John Galloway Jr. of the Hollywood Spoonbills finished second in voting, while Lindsay Handy of the Clearwater Threshers finished third.
