Martin Bangs Out 6 Base Hits Thursday, July 31st , 2064 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Danny Martin -- a 6-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Bright House Field and paced the 22-5 Spoonbills win over the Kissimmee Kumquats. After his dynamite batting performance, the Hollywood third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 6 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Danny Martin singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
