Un-four-gettable: Wykle Hits for Cycle
Wednesday, August 9th , 2051
The Kingsport Mets topped the Hampton Orioles by a score of 12-6 at Hunter Wright Stadium today but all the talk was on center fielder Ethan Wykle.
The Kingsport star hit for the cycle in a show-stealing performance, powering his club to the win. Wykle went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to go along with 5 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.
"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Wykle said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me - the ball seemed that big. And it just floated in."
Ethan Wykle flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Gabe Raison in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, hit a three-run double in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
So far this season Wykle is batting .312 with 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 20 hits in 64 at-bats, 4 walks and a .362 OBP. Wykle has played in 15 games.
