Blue Jays Mazzei Lost for Year Wednesday, July 28th , 2060 The doctors have spoken and Jeff Mazzei of the Bluefield Blue Jays didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Mazzei sustained his season-ending injury during the Delco Jawns game yesterday at Bowen Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Bluefield medical staff reported Mazzei had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months. |
