Dónovan Chavez of the Kinston Indians humiliated the River City Rumblers at Ballpark of Kinston, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 5 hits.
"He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said River City manager Sawyer Damon, after the game.
Chavez whiffed 5 and walked 2 in the 8-0 win.
"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Chavez said. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
So far this year, Chavez has made 6 starts, tossed 35.1 innings, struck out 19 batters and walked 9. His record is 2-4 with a 4.84 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .303 batting average.
