Cubs End Quinn Streak Thursday, July 21st , 2061 The South Bend Cubs pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting Blake Quinn hitless in 4 at-bats during the club's 10-0 victory over the West Michigan Whitecaps at Fifth Third Ballpark. The disappointing performance ended a 28-game hitting streak for the third baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Quinn said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." Quinn is hitting at a .341 mark this season. His stats show 5 home runs, 36 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has played 75 games for the Whitecaps. |
