South Atlantic League Carolina Division Title Goes to Crawdads Thursday, August 31st , 2051 It was far from a foregone conclusion, but the Hickory Crawdads are now champions of the South Atlantic League Carolina Division. "We battled, day in and day out," said left fielder Stanley Gamble. "This is one to savor, as it was close right down to the end and that puts a lot of pressure on a team." With a record of 85-51, the Crawdads have officially won their 12th division crown. Manager Paul Lucas said there's "a lot of pride and excitement" involved in coming out on top of the South Atlantic League Carolina Division. The club will now be looking to win the 3rd Single A championship in franchise history. |
