Lakewood Blanks Legends, Luyster Wins Wednesday, July 26th , 2051 Rodney Luyster of the Lakewood BlueClaws spun his magic on the Lexington Legends today. He blanked them 8-0 on 3 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and 1 walk. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Luyster said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Lakewood skipper Ben Schiappa said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Rodney pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said. Luyster has started 18 times this year, pitched 117.2 innings, fanned 74 batters and walked 33.
