Hit Parade: Short Pops 5 Hits Monday, July 17th , 2051 It was high-fives all around for Johnny Short at Progressive Field today. He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Columbus Catfish. Short smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 10-5 win. "Johnny was hitting everything," said Growlers manager Brian Beaty. "It really was a special game for him." In the opposing dugout, Catfish manager Scott Andrews told BNN beat writers that Short "ambushed" the club. "Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Short oversleeps next time." Johnny Short hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Thus far this season Short is hitting .333 with no home runs, 18 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 37 hits in 111 at-bats and has played in 58 games. View Boxscore |
