Barrage of Hits Gets Hernández SAL Award Monday, May 1st , 2051 The Delmarva Shorebirds received word today that second baseman Kirk Hernández was selected South Atlantic League Player of the Week for his stellar performance in last week's games. Hernández took full advantage of all 20 plate appearances last week as he hit .533 with 8 hits, 1 home run, 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored. In 26 games this year Hernández has posted a .329 average and put up these numbers: 3 home runs, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored. |
