Aguilera Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 27
Saturday, September 11th , 2060
Marvin Aguilera, shortstop for the Bowling Green Hot Rods, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 5 tries against the Columbus Catfish. Not only did the Catfish break his 27-game hitting streak, they also beat Bowling Green by the score of 3-2.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Aguilera said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
This year, Aguilera is batting .339 with 174 hits and 19 home runs. He has scored 84 times and has batted in 85 runs.
