No Late-Season Magic Coming: South Bend Out of Playoffs Saturday, September 11th , 2060 The South Bend Cubs quite simply didn't have what it took this year. The club was formally eliminated from playoff qualification in 2060. "It feels bad," said Cubs starting pitcher Lamont RamÃrez, when asked for his response by reporters. "Having your biggest hopes of the year dashed feels bad." South Bend last appeared in the postseason in 2038. This is their 22nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 54 times in their 57-year history. South Bend has won the A Championship Series 3 times in their history. |
