Westside Loses 1B Alford, Suspended by League Wednesday, August 4th , 2066 Following an intense confrontation with the home plate umpire in which he was ejected, Woolly Mammoths first baseman Lincoln Alford was suspended 2 games by the league. Alford had to be physically restrained by his manager and appeared to make a few threats toward the umpire. He was upset by a called third strike in a game with Quad Cities at Modern Woodmen Park. Alford could not be reached for comment on the suspension. Alford currently has a .288 batting average with 42 hits, 7 homers, 23 RBIs, 19 runs scored and a .358 OBP. |
