Braves Chill Magpusar's Hot Streak Monday, May 27th , 2052 It was the best of both worlds for the Rome Braves today at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, as they defeated the Delmarva Shorebirds 3-0 and also snapped Iñigo Magpusar's 26-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old Delmarva third baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Magpusar, we just wanted to win the game," said Braves skipper Jake Lappin. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Magpusar frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." So far this year Magpusar is batting .367 with 7 home runs. |
